FLACme is a search engine for finding
CD-Quality (16bit 44.1kHz) music downloads in lossless
formats such as FLAC, WAV, AIFF and ALAC.
The search engine lists only legal CD-Quality downloads.
The goal of the FLACme website is to make finding high quality
music downloads easy.
What do you mean by CD-Quality? What about MP3s?
By CD-Quality we mean the stored music has the same samplerate and bit depth as
that used to store music on a compact disk.
Music stored in compact disk format is sampled at a rate of
44.1kHz (ie. 44100 times per second)
and each sample consists of 16 bits of information (and thus can have
one of around 65 thousand values).
The compact disk format (also known as Redbook) is a lossless format which means
that zero information is lost when storing a source 44.1kHz/16bit data stream.
This is in contrast to MP3 and other lossless formats where some information
is 'thrown away' in the process of creating the file.
Does FLACme list High Definition/High Resolution Audio?
No. For high-definition (24bit) music downloads, visit FindHDmusic.
